Blogmas day 9.. Decorating the Tree.

This weekend my darling husband and I were meant to be heading up to Edinburgh with my Omi ( Granny, she is German)  but due to one thing and another our trip has be postponed till the Spring.  So we have had a free weekend all to our selfs.  To be honest hubby has not been very well so it has been a bit of a lazy one.  We have visited a coffee shop or two and samples some of Yorkshires finest cake.  We have also put up our Tree!  Usually I am very strict about not putting up our tree till the 15th of December.  Why the 15th I don't know but I always feel it is too soon if it goes up before.  But for some strange reason I started feeling festive a little early this year.  Perhaps it is because I have been super organized and completed all my Christmas shopping in November bar one gift.  Or maybe it is due to the few days snow and frost we have had this week.  Who knows really.  But I thought ahh what the heck lets stick the tree up early and get into the party swing.  Yipppieee!

Here are a few of my favorite ornaments on my Tree.

This one is possibly my all time favorite and I only got it yesterday.  It came from a garden center near to where I live.  In the winter they change it into a huge Christmas Winter Wonderland.  When I was little my Grandma and Grandad would take me there to see all the animated toy reindeer and snowmen.  It always seemed so magical and exciting.   My Grandma collected steiff bears and my Grandad was fanatical about aeroplanes.  So when I saw this little fella flying his plane I felt it was a nice tribute to them both that I could hang on my tree.  Now every year when I hang this ornament I will think of them both and all the lovely memories I have of going to Winter Wonderland.

I picked up this chap last week he is lovely and hand painted.  I just felt that he had a kind of traditional Victorian feel to him.

The glitter balls I have had for years and they just made my tree sparkle.  What is not to love.  I also have a few of the fairies.  I think they just seem to fun.  I can imagine them all coming to life after we go to sleep and wizzing around the tree.  Hehe.. yeah I know I still have the imagination of a child.  What can I say I guess I am just a big kid at heart.
